This website (Fishingsouthbaltic.eu) was funded and created by the EU project “Coastal Angling Tourism – a development chance for the South Baltic Region”, “CATCH” for short.
The mission of the CATCH project is – via coastal angling tourism – to provide a unique development opportunity for the South Baltic Region. In Europe, coastal angling tourism outside the main holiday season is an upcoming touristic trend. It offers a diversification of coastal tourism with very promising market opportunities. Especially for less developed coastal regions, this new trend could have great implications for regional development and the creation of new jobs. So far, however, angling tourism is an undeveloped economic growth opportunity and a niche market in the South Baltic.
